Homework

We offer 45 minutes of academic time Monday through Thursday after snack.  Parents are asked to choose a schedule for their kids at the beginning of the year that suits their child’s homework needs.  One of our program staff and volunteers assist kids with their work in a quiet workspace.

Free Choice

During Free Choice time, there will be a variety of activities for kids to choose from including art, board games, active play, reading & writing, and dramatic play.

Activity Choice

Activity choice will offer a variety of structured activities for kids to choose from each week. Some of these activities include gym games, science, lego challenge, drama, music, cooking, and art projects. 

CLUBS

We offer 7-10 week classes called Clubs every Fall, Winter, and Spring.  Clubs meet once per week for an hour.  Club schedules and registration forms will be available 1-2 weeks prior to the start of the club session.  See Important Dates below.  Please contact info@kidscommunitypdx.org with questions.

MUSiC LESSONS

KCLC works with a wonderful team of music instructors who provide private 25-minute lessons in piano, guitar, bass guitar, drums, voice, and ukulele.  If you are interested in lessons, please contact Seby at seby@kidscommunitypdx.org

CLOSURE DAYS

KCLC is open from 8am-5pm on PPS Teacher Planning Days, Conference Days, Winter Break and Spring Break.  Our schedule on these days includes free choice, activity time and field trips.  All families, including those paying for our closure day package, are required to sign up in advance for Closure Day programming.  Please note KCLC does NOT provide lunch for students, and the school lunch program will be closed those days.

AM Program - 7am-8:45am (MLC Only)

PM Program - Bell or Pick-Up Time until 6pm 

Closure Days - 8am-5pm (see calendar for dates specific to your child’s school)

Annual Registration Fees

  • $30 for one child

  • $25 Clubs Only or Music Only

Before + After School

  • $695 Includes all mornings and afternoons

Before School (MLC Only)

  • AM Program (all days) - $165/month 

After School 

  • 5 Days/Week - $580

  • 4 Days/Week - $545

  • 3 Days/Week - $480

  • 2 Days/Week - $375

  • 1 Day/Week - $220

  • Drop-In (scheduled 24 hours in advance) - $50/day

Closure Days 

(19 no-school days including Teacher Planning Days, Winter Break, Spring Break, Conferences)

  • Year Package (covers all closure days for the year) - $805/school year

  • Monthly Package (covers all closure days for the year) - $90/month (Sept-May commitment)

  • Daily (before sign up deadline) - $70/day 

  • Drop-In (after sign-up deadline) - $75/day

Music Lessons - Private music lessons in drums, guitar, bass guitar, voice, piano, and ukulele.

Our private music lessons include 25 minutes of one-on-one instruction with one of our skilled instructors, and are available year-round. We currently offer lessons in piano, guitar, bass guitar, voice, drums, and ukulele.
