How much does KCLC cost?

The following are our prices for the 2023-24 school year:

Full-Day Care

  • Annual Registration Fees

    • $30 for one child

    • $25 Clubs Only or Music Only

    Before + After School

    • $695 Includes all mornings and afternoons

    Before School (MLC ONLY)

    • AM Program (all days) - $165/month 

    After School 

    • 5 Days/Week - $580

    • 4 Days/Week - $545

    • 3 Days/Week - $480

    • 2 Days/Week - $375

    • 1 Day/Week - $220

    • Drop-In (scheduled 24 hours in advance) - $50/day

    Closure Days 

    (19 no-school days including Teacher Planning Days, Winter Break, Spring Break, Conferences)

    • Year Package (covers all closure days for the year) - $805/school year

    • Monthly Package (covers all closure days for the year) - $90/month (Sept-May commitment)

    • Daily (before sign up deadline) - $70/day 

    • Drop-In (after sign-up deadline) - $75/day

    Music Lessons - Private music lessons in drum, guitar, bass guitar, piano, and ukulele

    • $25/lesson

    Clubs - after-school enrichment classes offered in Fall, Winter and Spring

    • $50-$80 per session (see Club Guide for details)

  • Summer Camp

    • $375/week


Which schools do you serve?

We currently serve kids in kindergarten through 6th grade from the Portland Public School District.


Are scholarships available?

KCLC is able to offer a limited amount of scholarships to families who qualify. Scholarships are awarded on a first-come first-served basis. To inquire more about scholarships please email Michael at michael@kidscommunitypdx.org.

KCLC accepts and welcomes ERDC (employment related day care funding.)

Where are you located?

We are located in the east side of the lower level of Metropolitan Learning Center.

Metropolitan Learning Center is an alternative arts/magnet school in NW Portland, serving children from all over Portland.


Is KCLC an inclusive environment?

KCLC embraces a community enriched and enhanced by diversity along a number of dimensions, including race, ethnicity and national origins, gender and gender identity, sexuality, socio-economic status, religion, physical ability, and neurodivergence.  All spaces are available via ramps and elevators. If your child requires continuous one-on-one support paraprofessionals are welcome in our program, however we are unable to provide such support.
