Private music lessons

Our private music lessons include 25 minutes of one-on-one in-person instruction with one of our skilled instructors, and are available year-round. We currently offer lessons in piano, guitar, bass guitar, voice, drums, and ukelele.

We supply all of the instruments and curriculum-related supplies through KCLC, however students are welcome to bring in their own instruments if they prefer.

Each lesson is $25; families are charged for the total number of lessons attended during the month of each billing cycle through CampBrain. No-shows are counted towards attendance, however lesson fees are waived when given a minimum 24-hour notice in advance for any absences. There is a one-time $25 registration fee for music lessons, which will be charged in the first/next billing cycle through CampBrain.

Music lesson slots are subject to availability on a first-come, first-serve basis. For more information or lesson slot inquiries, please reach out to Seby at seby@kidscommunitypdx.org.

KCLC Music Instructors

MAX

Max Zatarain has been teaching music at KCLC for over four years now, and is also an active gigging musician. Some of Max's students have been learning music with him since before the pandemic and have continued music through KCLC throughout, or are returning students from reopening. He is a well-rounded musician who can teach a variety of instruments and is well loved within our community. He's quite flexible with his teaching style as well, and caters his lessons to his student's preferences.
